Clémence Langlois
Avocat
A firm dedicated to corporate and international business law
A firm committed to the distribution sector
Niche firm in Paris
After working as a lawyer for investment funds in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Clémence Langlois set up her own firm in Paris, putting herself at the service of French and foreign companies.
Expertise in business law
She owes her expertise in business law to her university training (having completed a Master II in European and international business law at the University of Paris Dauphine and an LL.M in International business law at the University of Exeter) as well as her professional experience in prestigious international law firms.
Bâtonnier Jean-Marie Leloup's expertise
Furthermore, Bâtonnier Jean-Marie Leloup, one of the pioneers of business law, who throughout his career has put his expertise at the service of distribution and sales networks, chose Clémence Langlois to serve his clients after his retirement. She had the honour of being mentored for many months by Bâtonnier Jean-Marie Leloup to benefit from his expertise in commercial agency law.
Defending with determination
Clémence Langlois is therefore determined to continue to devote herself to defending and promoting the commercial agents, as well as the smooth operation of genuine franchise networks.
The firm's working languages are French and English.
The firm's clients
The firm serves both French and foreign companies. Its clientele is therefore made up of traders – individuals or commercial companies – operating in all fields. In particular, the firm works alongside commercial agents, distributors and franchisors.
Clémence Langlois knows this. She therefore shares Bâtonnier Jean-Marie Leloup’s vision and supports, advises and represents the firm’s clients with all the professionalism to which they are entitled.
The firm's fields of expertise
Commercial agency
At the instigation of Bâtonnier Jean-Marie Leloup, Cabinet Clémence Langlois Avocat has become an advisor to the commercial agency profession, helping to :
- setting up the appropriate legal structures for the profession,
- design, draft and negotiate the commercial agency contract best suited to each professional,
- audit a commercial agency’s portfolio of mandates,
- organising and securing the transfer of mandates,
- ensure that the rights of commercial agents are respected in court, in particular with regard to the payment of commissions and indemnity in the event of termination of the contract,
- promote effective cooperation between principals and commercial agents, and
- contribute to agreements with foreign partners (thanks to a network of permanent correspondents in Germany, Belgium, Spain and the United Kingdom).
International commercial relations
Clémence Langlois studied the legal regime governing international contracts as part of her LL.M. in International Business Law at the University of Exeter (UK). She produced a study entitled « A critical discussion about the unification of commercial law: Contract formation, payment and enforcement ».
During her professional experience as a lawyer in Luxembourg, Clémence Langlois’ working language was English. Cabinet Clémence Langlois Avocat therefore works with its clients in both French and English in all its activities: holding appointments, contractual and out-of-court settlement negotiations and drafting legal opinions.
Franchising
Franchising is clearly an essential business formula, found in virtually every field of activity. It enables the success of proven know-how to be amplified.
Clémence Langlois Avocat works in the field of franchising, designing and drafting franchise agreements and providing ongoing assistance to franchisors in managing their network.
Once again, Clémence Langlois trained alongside Bâtonnier Jean-Marie Leloup – author of a genuine handbook on franchise development, « La Franchise, droit et pratique ».
Internationally, thanks to a network of correspondents, Clémence Langlois Avocat is able to secure the export of a franchise to Germany, Belgium, Spain and the United Kingdom.
